Oxygen Sensor Backordered

Just had my 2012 in for a check engine light at 53k miles. Turned out to be an oxygen sensor, but they are nationally backordered, so it'll be a week or two. Must be a few others having oxygen sensor failures?

Good news is my extended warranty is covering it...

its probably common across many vehicles and model years... possibly even common to multiple OEMs.

So the backorder could be unrelated to any one specific F150 issue.

^^^ this. The EB engine management system is similar to a lot of the VW/Audis that I have worked on. They all use Bosch parts. I haven't taken the time to cross reference the various sensor part numbers but I suspect many are interchangeable or only have minor differences. The back order could also be a supply chain issue or that product line might have been shut down for maintenance.

The emissions warranty should cover it.

ajsturtz,

Let me look and see if I can locate you a part. Send me a PM with your name, phone number, VIN, and dealer info. I'll see what I can do.

Ashley

if its an after cat O2 sensor, then you don't need to worry about it. It has nothing to do with how the engine performs. Its just the government sniffer.
If it is before the cats, then you are probably noticing some engine issues. High fuel consumption or poor performance.
