Kudos for Customer Service

I took my 2012 F150 Eco Boost in this morning for a check engine light warning. The guy in the Service Department checked for codes, showed and explained everything to me. He also pulled up the maint records from the previous owner. The truck was very well taken care of. It seems there is a problem with the catalytic converter and a couple new TSB fixes to be done. Its too often we see people complaining about Ford Customer Service, I just wanted to give a little shout out to **** Smith Ford of Columbia, SC.

I have access to 4 plus different Ford dealers here where I'm at... probably more if I really think about it....

I drove 7 hours to Jim Wilson Ford in Yreka CA to trade in my Super Duty on my currently F150 Lariat. Its rare but there are some Ford dealerships that are still worth going to.

Nice to here about the good ones for a change!!

Thanks for sharing Bamadrill

Cheers

Did I see that right? That you drove all the way up here to Yreka from Santa Rosa to trade in a truck? I'm impressed. But then in our rural area, if a dealership doesn't stand by their work, they wouldn't be in business very long. I'll ask them if they can recall you when I go in next for service. Thoughtful story.

Good to hear a shout out to small town dealer and good dealers!
Nem - what route you take I80 to I5? 101-299-96 is a much more beautiful drive right now

Off topic, but now that you mention it, I think one of the wildest drives I've ever done was 36 from Red Bluff to Fortuna - and that was in my F-150! If I ever get another sports car, that's one road I'll want to drive again.

Kep

My family has been buying trucks and cars from Jim Wilson for years! Heck I bought my first truck off a lot from them back in 1999.

My twin brother lives in Yreka so it was a win win. Not to mention my Parents are only down the road an hour in Happy Camp. Get a new truck, hang out with some family! Couldn't ask for a better day!

While its a long drive from here the service I get from Jim Wilson is always worth it.. even if I don't buy anything. When we bought our current Lariat we traded my 2003 Gas 5.4 F250 and her 2008 Ford Taurus. Matt was the online sales rep that helped us. We made out pretty good on the trades.. lost a little in the Taurus but went in knowing we would.

Mat gave us a great deal on the Lariat and in the end my wife and I are both completely happy consolidating our fleet down to just two vehicles. The truck and my Jack Roush Mustang. Which sits entirely way to much as it is.

Redwood,

Typically when I head north I'll take one of two ways! I5 to 96 or 101 to 299 to 96....

Since we live in Rincon Valley (East of Santa Rosa) we almost always head towards Calistoga and drop down into Middletown taking 53 to hwy 20 and the rest to I5 into Williams. Then I5 all the way up to Hwy 96 which leads right into Happy Camp CA.. which is my home town. Born and raised!!

The return home we will continue south on 96 to Willow Creek.. from there 299 to Eureka. And the rest of the way home on 101. I rarely take the same route. Like to make a big circle if possible. Makes the journey easier to bear considering its suck a long drive. May not actually be 7 hours in distances.. but with a two kids and a dog and stopping regularly the time adds up quick!

GLC.. that is indeed a nice drive! At some point in my life I aim to ride that on my GSXR 1000 or VStrom 1000. Just need to find the time! 299 to Redding is also another good one if you like scenic! But then again everything in NorCal is scenic!

Anyhow.. Anyone looking for a Great Ford buying experience.. head to Jim Wilson Ford in Yreka CA..

Cheers

Nemi
