I don't mean to make it sound like retroing is something 16 year olds do and that it's ghetto or something like that, but still . . .
Sounds like most modifications we do. ha

A thread is started where the word dumB is misspelled about crap HIDs and it gets serious answers. This place is losing its touch!

Just here to help out. I know my first thread asking something wasn't the most intelligent but I still got answers for it and I'm thankful. Just paying it forward I guess.

So. Are you able to see the front of the vehicle...whilst driving...at night? No? Do ye often stand around the front of the truck at night and look at yer lights? No? Then you DO care what others think, yes?

Yer functionality is already there. In fact, much more so with the factory halogens in the fog housings than craptacular PnP HIDs. After all, they ARE "fog lights".

The B is next to the N on a keyboard. Jesus, we all misspell stuff, most 10x worse than that.

I meant to ask you guys this the other day, but when I out up the specs on the kit I had the retro fit rep out together for me, no one er commented about it.. Will that setup be hi/low beams, will 10k look ok/be too much/ not what I want, & what will it look like, (no idea about what K HID looks like what) will it be legal lol..?? I want super bright white headlights (hence why I'm going HID) but I want it to have that slight blue tinge to it because I think that looks soo bada**.... I anyone can throw some knowledge my way to better understand the HID's as far as fellow F-150ians, I'd really appreciate it... Thanks fellas.. I am at the mercy of your geniiusness....

10000k will be an almost purple blue. No bueno in my opinion. Here is a chart:

For optimal light output, you'll want either 4300k or 5000k. Almost all OEM applications use 4300k. If you want bright white with a hint of blue, you'll want 5000k. Anything more significantly reduces your light output.

10k is gonna be like a deep blue to purple. And it's gonna be like driving with a flashlight only, they put out very little light.

5k is gonna be your brightest white, 6k is gonna be closer to blue, but again the higher you get away from around 4300k, the more output your losing.

10k equals less output then your fog lights. I would stick with 4300k or 5000k. You didn't specify if you were going fyi retrofit or not. If you are then that"blue" you are looking for will come from the cut-off. No need to sacrifice output for looking BA when a proper retrofit will have a cut-off with a line of blue already in it

Also where did you post this stuff from the rep?i must have missed it

Apologies, I hadn't got it up if I remember right.. The HID kid that the rep setup is this
http://www.theretrofitsource.com/complete-retrofit-kits/bi-xenon-mini-stage-3-kit-d2s.html
Will these be ok for a OEM headlight install.. I really want these http://www.headlightsdepot.com/products/Ford/F-150/2001/DS-FR396-B0WCA
And the rep said they would also be the best for the HID kits, but I can't afford both, at least not at the same time... Opinions..?
