trailer wiring ???

I have a 13 150 with tow package , on my 06 1 wire on the 7 pin connector is hot all the time when key is on. I use it for a loading lite on flatbed trailer. on the 13 no wire is hot with key on (running). Is there something that requires a relay plugged in or has this been eliminated on 13's, or,or. thanks in advance.

Hi.

I think the relays still need to be inserted. Refer to yer Owner's guide for locations. Should also be a baggie in the glovebox/under the seat somewhere, containing same. If not, see the dealer and have them give you one.

(The factory brake controller, if installed after the fact needs a dealer to activate so the info shows up on the productivity display.)

good luck

You should have been supplied with a fuse. It will plug in at the box above the radiator. There will be instructions in the bag.

Ok thanks , I found the fuse /relay package, but , no instructions. best I can figure the relay goes into #9 and the fuse to #21 on the under hood above the radiator fuse box. Thanks all

You may not be finished at this point. If you want the power to be hot all the time (when key is in off position) then you will need to do the following. Make a jumper wire with a spade connector on both ends, pull out the no. 9 relay and replace it with the jumper. Now you have power all the time. The only downside is if your trailer has the breakaway it will charge the battery continuously, so beware.
