My Ford Touch Issues and Reviews
... My DNA was just updated to Android 4.2.2. The few times that the texting feature has worked it works just fine and will read the text to me. Most of the time when I touch "texting" in the phone menu on MFT it comes up that my device is not supported for this feature. ...
The most recent firmware for the DNA tested with MFT was 2.06.605.1 710RD (as of September this year). This previous version appeared to be compatible with the texting feature, which might explain the intermittent functionality you're experiencing now. If you haven't already, it would be a good idea to perform a clean pairing to create a new Bluetooth relationship. Be sure to remove SYNC from your phone, and vice versa, before reconnecting. As a final measure to ensure your phone has the strongest possible connection, give a master reset a try:
It's possible your phone may no longer exhibit total compatibility with this feature, but the above steps will ensure your phone has the best possible chance to work.

Hey FordIVTeam, on a related note can ford change the way the MFT does a scheduled maintenance. I've had three vehicles with the MFT system and all of them will suddenly go black and give a message that it is performing scheduled maintenance. Why can't the system give you a warning and ask if you want to delay it until later. My truck is running version 3.62 and it still does it. What if someone is using the nav in an area they are not familiar with and the system decides it wants to do a scheduled maintenance? If it does that they may have to wait up to 10 minutes before they can re-enter the nav info. That can be a big problem. Just check and see if a minor update can be done to fix this situation.
I think there might be a deeper factor at play here. Based on your description, it sounds like your system might actually be rebooting for optimization purposes. MyFord Touch is designed to dump its processes and reinitialize the operating software in the even that it has detected any degraded performance. If this is a frequent occurence, you may want to consider bringing the behavior to your service department's attention. A master reset may improve the MFT's overall functioning, but frequent reboots often require dealership intervention to resolve completely.

It just happened for the first time in my truck earlier today, but I just bought it about 3 weeks ago. It doesn't happen all the time, it's only done this about 4 times in the last year in my wifes escape, just when it does it's very irritating. There's gotta be a way to change this so it asks your permission, not do it when it fells like it.

Well, my phone is finally playing nice with MFT. It has always worked pretty good with everything except messaging. I took the advice from the previous post except I didn't reset MFT. My phone software was recently updated so I just deleted sync from my phone paired with MFT again and it has worked perfectly for the last 2 weeks. I hope I don't jinx it by my post, but so far so good.
Well, phone and/or MFT have gone haywire again. Don't understand how everything worked great for weeks and then suddenly does not work in messaging (texting). Since I can't figure out if my phone or MFT is the problem I'm at a stand still. Paid for the stuff, IT SHOULD WORK...

Did your phone have to install a system update by chance? I have an S4 and just applied the system update today, but I'm not sure if the install was for all Android devices or not. Try performing a clean pairing (delete all Bluetooth histories between SYNC & your phone, reconnect) to see if this improves stability.

app killer
Had my 150 Platinum since March and My Ford Touch still isn't working like it should. Problem I have is that it won't stay connected via Bluetooth so Text/Messaging will work consistently. Touch has been updated to latest version and the phone (HTC Droid DNA from Verizon) has just been updated. I can use the phone for calls and music via Bluetooth with no problem. Text/Messaging maybe works about 10% of the time. Wondering what the experience has been for other users.
Do you have an app killer running? Maybe it is killing your messaging app. My Samsung Galaxy works flawlessly(well as flawlessly as the MFT is anyway). Now the Ford Nav finding a current business is a different story entirely. . .

Hey everyone,
I'm Rebecca and I'll be filling in for Antonio for a few days.
What's going on with your navigation, madmaxmutt?
Instead of re-pairing your phone, phowler, after you reboot it try turning NOTIFICATIONS off then on again (on your phone). That should help.

Too many things to mention in someone else's post. Maybe need a separate thread?
Primarily, the MFT nav doesn't seem to know many current businesses by name or nearby. We were less than a mile from Micro Center in Denver and the system had no clue. The latest thing we noticed was while driving south on S. Colorado Blvd in Denver, every restaurant was to the west. That was true even as we passed eating establishments on our left.

Hey Rebecca, glad to see another Ford Customer Service rep on this site. I am the original poster about my problem with MFT. You can read the previous posts to see the problem I am having. ANY ASSISTANCE WOULD BE APPRECIATED. Like I stated before, I have no way of knowing if I have a phone or MFT problem.. Thanks again.
Well, mine just did this today.

L Squared,
Did you get this worked out? My Android connected today and the MFT gave me the you can't message with this phone routine. Kernel updated on the phone. I had to delete SNYC from the phone and then delete the phone from the MFT. When I re-paired, it asked me two questions. One for the phonebook. The second I don't recall seeing before but it was something about sharing. I said yes and always to both. It started working again.
I do agree that this stuff should work, I just don't know if it is M$, G$ or Samsung$ that is causing the issue.
