No servicable fuel filter???

Changed the plugs, oil and filter, and air filter. Napa sold me a fuel filter (looks identical to the one my 94 f250 uses), but apparently my '09 150 has one in the tank I can't service. Really?????

You can change it when your fuel pump takes a dump.

Here's hoping that doesn't happen.

You should be fine short of the contents of the fuel tank becoming quicksand.

If the choice is between old style setup and the possibility of getting garbage all the way up the lines to the filter versus a sock in the tank blocking things off, I'll take the chance on the in-tank filter doing the job.

not true.....gm removed the fuel filter in the gas trucks and rely on a sock on the fuel pump pick up tube in 2006-2007 depending on the model....so they beat Ford by a couple of years on that one....

I sense a future fuel filter retrofit to exterior line. Whom is going to do it?

Ford probably figured since the other 90% of f150 owners never change the filter anyway, why not just eliminate it. I know every one here does but what about the rest who never go on a forum.

Under the Engineering test menu there is a page that shows the % used on the in tank filter. My truck at 55,000 shows to have used 33% of the filter life. So based on that once every 150,000 miles or so I will need to unbolt the bed or drop the tank to change the filter.
