I just looked it up - the 2011 Screw 3.7 has a 5700# tow rating.

I don't think you'll be disappointed with the 3.7 after you've had it a few weeks, unless you're a "stop light" kind guy .
Ha, I don't think I'll be disappointed. I'm an old man before my time. And it's a sharp truck.

Cause that only a couple grand more than what I paid for my 06 last year. So that's the same truck as mine, just 3.7 vs. 5.4, but 40k fewer miles and 4 years newer (when adjusting purchase times).
Ha, yeah I think you and I were talking about it on another thread. I've been bugging everyone about it for days, but luckily for you guys those days are over, because I pulled the trigger today. It was just too sweet of a deal to pass up on a pretty substantial upgrade. It's sitting out in my driveway as we speak! I'll be taking some pics of it when the sun comes up, and then I'll share them. I suppose I'll have to change the title of this thread.

Well, I always thought I'd keep it forever. It was my first truck, and I have a pretty serious emotional attachment to it. We've been through a lot together. However, I also have some pretty serious student loans that could use a nice big dent in them. If it was 4WD I'd probably keep it and play around with it in the woods for the next few decades, but I've already got a buyer lined up, so I'm going to do the practical thing and sell it before I change my mind.

I can tell I'm getting older because I keep doing practical things. My 17 year old self would be yelling at me right now.

Aww . . . you sound exactly like an older version of me and I've said those exact same things and had those exact same thoughts and I bought mine at around the same age and it's my first truck and the first vehicle I bought and that's the one stipulation I have with mine, the two wheel drivedness . . . why is there not an emoticon/smilie for crying? I have sunken into a state of deep depression

Talking REVISED: Went for it! 2011 XLT 3.7L

Well after much debate, I finally decided I just couldn't pass up the deal. I now have a new truck in the driveway! Thanks to everyone for putting up with my indecisiveness along the way. I'm happy with the decision, and I have grown to really like the truck. I've actually already started modifying it (and I doubt that will come to an end any time soon).

Here is what it looked like right after I bought it from my dad:

There were 3 things that I hated immdediately:

1) The god-awful chrome caps on the wheels
2) The dumb, low to the ground plastic running boards
3) The ridiculously large rear headrests

So, I went ahead and took care of all those issues today:

And here is how she is sitting now:

I've got some more plans for it in the near future.

Thanks! It happens to be close to one of my favorite colors Ford has ever made. Reminds me of the copper on the '05-'07 King Ranches. Now I just need some paint to match door handles and mirror caps...

Those are just hub caps? Huh! Who knew! (obviously you did, and I'm sure others) I've seen them before, just never knew they were caps.

Looks good! Congrats!

What is the color? It's too light for Kodiak Brown, right? It does appear to be crying out for some PTM handles more than usual haha

Actually, I didn't know either! I absolutely HATED the wheels (I also thought they were chrome wheels rather than caps), but today when I was crawling under the truck to take the running boards off, I noticed the wheel weights were behind the chrome. The caps pop right off! It was quite a relief. It looks so much better without them.

Yeah Kodiak brown is basically black unless you look at it in direct sunlight. This is Golden Bronze Metallic. I believe it's a descendent of the copper/chestnut line from years past. The handles and mirrors are definitely getting some attention in the near future.

I love this color, when i was truck shopping they had a 5.0 that was this color which i drove and almost bought, until i saw my ecoboost sitting right next to where we parked. Ended up getting the eco cause it was cheaper and had more option. I like my kodiak brown but its just to dark (black)

Absolutely, me too. The king ranch copper was always my favorite, but this bronze may have bumped that down a notch. It's particularly nice with the beige two tone.

I like the Kodiak brown, I just wish they had made the brown part of it more easily noticeable. You have to try really hard to see it.

They shift constantly much like a 5 or 6 speed manual. I like it. I look forward to seeing guys put NOX on M and see what they will do.

Cool

Coolness!!. The rims, that's what they call "chrome clad" wheels, in stead of hub caps. Just like your suppose to say - "Harvesting" a deer, instead of "Bagging" a deer. Come on? OK, rant over. Hey, I've always liked a nice metallic brown, or copper. Back in the day, my Vega? days , I built a '93 Wagon. It had a fresh block that was .040 over fitted with steal sleeves (from Chevrolet), ...........and I'm not gonna bore ya's with the rest. But, when I had it painted, It was a custom metallic copper. Man that color was beautiful. I like it, yours that is......
