Stupid auto dimming mirrors

I hate the auto dimming drivers side and rear view mirrors! Short of replacing them, is there any way to stop them from dimming?

Mine seem to get a little to dark at times there is no in between

Just paint or tape over the little photocells on your rearview mirror that will keep them clear and untinted

#1 clip the power wires.

#2 sell the side view to me- not joking. I would totally go without a side mirror to swap with yours. PM if interested.

The car wash broke the back side of my auto-dimming/heated side view mirror where it clips on the adjustment motor. A new Auto-dimming, heated mirror glass was like $280 from Ford and the only ones available on Amazon were heated only, but less than $30. I bought the Amazon one but decided to reattach the damaged mirror to the motor with silicone glue and keep the replacement for when the glue fails. Two months later it is still holding up. Next car/truck I buy will have to have power fold mirrors for sure.

The one on my dad's 2011 driver's side mirror looks like it's just a tinted film over the mirror. Maybe a heat gun could take it off?
