Also now back the truck up to my garage so they don't have room to get at it.
a coworker's dad had a four wheeler in his bed, had it chained and locked in the bed of the truck and backed up to the house. Criminals busted his trans out of park (from under the truck), rolled the truck out in the street, stole the four wheeler, stole the tailgate and broke into the tool box in the bed.

That's pretty darn bold! They must've been pretty quick with that little heist. Granted I'm no criminal, but I'd be afraid to do something that involved/time consuming/blatantly obvious in certain parts of Texas . . .
I realize that I am bringing up a very old thread, but I wanted to add this. Back in 2015 I purchased a new F150 Screw, XLT, very nice truck. This was the first year model with all of the aluminum body parts. When the truck was about 6 months old, someone stole my hood and the left front quarter panel. In this truck, the "quarter panel" is where the headlights and running lights are located. The truck was sitting in my driveway, locked, and they unlocked it. The hood and quarter panel were removed neatly, and all of the various wiring connectors were neatly disconnected. All bolts, screws, and fasteners were taken.
This happened in the middle of the night, with me in the house asleep. Some very brave thieves, and skilled at this work. I strongly suspected someone who worked in a body shop and needed the parts to fix another truck, as a typical thief working in a hurry (so as to avoid getting shot) would have just cut the wires. nice job, eh?
