2009 Lariat PCV replacement

Anyone replace their PCV at 105k miles as per Ford maintenance. My mechanic called Ford for the part and they said it included a new valve cover and they don't stock because they have never replaced one?????

I am gonna stand up for the OP here and say that was not necessary. He is asking a question and the first response he gets back shouldnt be that. Its easy to be critical of someone else, just like it would be easy for me to be critical of you for not knowing that ALL FX and higher trim trucks from 09-10 were ONLY equipped with the 5.4.

To the OP, I am sorry but I do not have any information for you. But here is a bump for the thread and good luck getting the info you need!

Agreed on that being uncalled for. All Lariats from 04-10 have, to my knowledge, had the 5.4, so I agree with Gerrard. Also, replacing a PCV valve on a 4.6 vs. 5.4 doesn't matter if he's only wondering whether or not it should be replaced when the manual says. I'm sure the part numbers are different, but it doesn't matter.

But I'm sorry, I don't know either

I don't think it's actually a PCV valve per se - it's a fixed orifice. I don't see the need for replacing it unless problems indicate so.

In hindsight ... TRUE! *Knee-jerk reaction to too many years of service repair telephone calls indicating that their vehicle won't start, what could be the cause, and the ensuing game of 20 questions to extract the necessary/any particulars.

Review of the 2009 F-150 sales brochure indicates that the 5.4L 3V was standard for the Lariat.

Review of www.fordparts.com reveals that there is no PCV valve (FoMoCo or Motorcraft) for the 5.4L 3V engine.

Maybe your 04 has one, but I don't think the 09 does.

2004, 2006 ... YES. FoMoCo and Motorcraft list a PCV valve.

Not so for 2009-10. Reference: www.fordparts.com

Was doing some searching on PCV valves. In this You Tube video the guy says it's a 5.4L. I have a 5.4 3V and my intake does not look like his. I think that is a 4.6 is it not? My 5.4 3V does not have a PCV valve like the one in the video, I've got the electric one on the drivers side.
