My new fifth wheel
Yea I'd love to see a comparison video with a 5.slow
doing the same thing. I'm betting it would be screaming a bit. I remember hauling my dad's Jayco 322FKS with my Tundra... it pulled it great but you could definitely tell the engine was revving. I tell my buddies it does no good to floor the EB, just get it up around 2500-3000 rpms and it just pulls... revving doesn't do much accept waste gas. They all have the

Of course it would be screaming but all these V8 guys would'nt see anything wrong with it, after all thats the main reason they dont like the ecobeast is because it doesnt have the sound they are looking for.

Very nice combo! Love the look of a fifth wheel on the back on an F150!
I'm sure the truck won't break for many miles being a few hundred lbs over loaded. Probably the next owners problem. Unless your rear axle breaks while towing 10k 60+ mph down the interstate. Can happen even with trucks under the ratings, but if it does, God Forbid, Ford and your insurance company will check. No worries though.
If you do get a chance, would love to see a weight paper showing the pin weight loaded on your truck, not separate. I have never seen a fifth wheel pin weight under 15% of the total weight. To make your numbers work yours would have to be 9-13%. Looks more like bumper pull percentages. Not impossible but that company should do more advertising that fact.
Great gas mileage towing that much. Can't wait to get my HD payload package F150!

X2, it would more than likely be the rv dealers butt if he did sell you something over the specs of what your truck can handle, i see that as being a liability issue for the dealer

First off it is not me.
Second, the Rv dealers basically make sure your within your trucks tow rating nothing else.. It's not there responsibility it's yours. Prime you have a great looking setup and I wish you the best of luck with it but please stop telling us you are within the trucks ratings. Until you post a pic of the Scale ticket showing the weight on your truck with the trailer attached it's all
..

Like i said i have the same exact truck as you with 140lbs more payload to boot and know exactly what my #'s are...

Couple of mods I've done to make things both last longer and be more stable goin down the road. I changed the rear leaf springs over to the HD payload set and will be replacing my rear shocks with Rancho RS9000XL adjustable shocks. Not sure if I want to do the wireless shock adjustments or not but the option is there if I want it. Main reason for shock changes is I'd like to be able to adjust between towing, offroading, and highway.
Did the rear leafs on thursday, shocks should be here mon-tues. The rear leafs essentially gave me 3inches of rise with the trailer hooked up, so it sits slightly above level while hooked up now. The rear leafs did not effect ride quality much at all, in fact I would wager it feels a bit smoother or more solid.

So does the truck sit *** high 3" when not loaded now?
Did you see the thread (over at the other F150 site) on the the trailer shootout with the EB vs. 5.7L tundra & GM? The EB had pedal to spare and cruised right up the pass.
If anybody here wants to start the same thread it's from Fast Lane. Youtube fast lane shootout and post it. I'm at work right now and youtube is blocked on our computers.

About the post below about your 'mods' to the truck...sounds like your trying to make up for lack of payload. There are ZERO 'mods' that will officially change your GVWR, thus payload numbers. But nothing wrong with helping your truck handle the weight Ford legally says it can. Extra safety is great. Happy camping.
Sorry for the typing, on this new Kindle. Thanks.
