Any one know if Ford recently changed suppliers or maybe just the design? I had my tail gate emblem replaced under warranty last week (clear coat seperating/delamination) and upon closer inspection over the weekend I noticed that it isn't the same as the one that failed. The new emblem appears to have the chrome letters and trim "inlayed" as opposed to the old one that was molded as one piece.

Anyone with a '13 out there care to check out their emblems? I looked at my buddy's '12 and were the same as my old emblem.

Now I'm hoping my grill emblem takes a crap soon so I can have a matching set.

My 2012 tailgate emblem has delamination as well. I figured I would wait until the issue was fixed before taking it in. Thanks for the heads up.

I hand-washed my truck this weekend and noticed that my front emblem is definitely not the same as it was on my 2012 or 2010. You can feel the difference with the in-layed emblem. I need to check out my rear one tonight. If I think about it I will go look at my buddy's 2013 in the lot at work later today.

Chance of storms and rain today.... My baby stays in the garage

Pretty bad when Ford cant even have an emblem last more than a couple years without coming apart, peeling, fading, falling off.

My 2002 Lariat which I sold to my brother 8 years ago still looks brand new, and I know the guy who has my 1985 F350 crew cab Diesel, it's emblem still looks fine.

Guess that's what you get buying stuff from China

Not just Ford, GM has the same problem. Probably buying emblems from the same supplier.

FWIW, my 2007 did it as well. My emblem was made in Italy.

our 09 Edge is peeling a little also. Same with my friend's 08 Expedition. You'd think the emblem should be glass or something more permanent because after all.. That is the company logo and you're supposed to showcase quality and pride with it.

My '13 emblems are definitely different and seem to be more robust than the ones from 2012 and 2010. If you look at most ford trucks and SUV's from the 2006 on they all look like crap. I have seen so many with the blue completely washed out.

Ford may be buying slightly different parts from multiple vendors at the same time. It's common and helps insure a steady supply of parts in the event of strikes, shipping port closures, etc and also helped fulfil requirement to use small busineses where one may not be able to supply their full requirement.
