Emergency Brake Light won't cut on?

I have some customers that are looking at a Certified 2009 Lariat SuperCrew--they are coming back in this evening to take delivery (they were on a demo agreement). Anyway, one complaint was that when they pressed the parking/emergency brake pedal, no light popped on in the cluster. I searched and Googled before starting a new thread, but all I found was when the light WOULDN'T go off lol.

Any ideas? I think the bulb might have just died, but you don't illuminate that one often, so I doubt that. I don't have the truck in front of me, but any troubleshooting or other ideas will be great, thanks.

not sure... maybe check the switch on the ebrake pedal and make sure its not stuck? Maybe try using a multimeter to make sure that switch didn't go bad?

It seems unlikely that the light on the dash burned out, but I suppose its possible.

Thanks Matt--

Where would I find the switch on the pedal? The rear portion, or on the side? Sorry, I live in a flat land and we don't ever even use an e-brake lol

Isn't this what you have a service department for?

Yeah glc but I was attempting to help the customer without the truck itself being there and I figured someone here had encountered this issue. Plus, I have to admit that I'm as knowledgeable as most of our service writers.

it should be on the e-brake pedal linkage. Just lay under the steering wheel and look up at the e-brake
