2010 F-150 4X4 Front End Noise

My truck is making noise in the front end when turning and hitting a bump at the same time. Has a 2 inch leveling kit and about 100,000 on it now. Never has done this before. Thought it was a ball joint. Took it in to two different 4X4 places and only thing they could come up with was it needed new shocks. I put Pro-Comps on it my self. Still making the noise. Nothing appears loose or worn out on front end. Any suggestions or any one else having this issue. Only when I turn left and coming from passenger side.

is it coming from the "front end" or can you tell one side of the truck versus the other? What size tires and wheels do you have? The reason I ask, is you say you hit a bump while turning and you get the noise. It may be the rear edge of whichever tire is turned outward (so if you're turning right, your right tire) rubbing on the rear of the wheel well. If you squeezed tires in like I did with my level, there is the potential for contact there.

also did you replace the upper strut mount when you did the new shocks? my 04 made similar sounds, I replaced the ball joints and tierod ends and it didnt go away. I would bet its either your upper strut mount or your sway bar making contact with something

My 2010 knocked/popped when taking off or coming to a stop. Turned out to be both lower control arms where cracked at the center mounting point and a bad body mount. Along with the transmission problem, is the reason why I now have a 2012.

Hopefully your problem isn't so bad.

Do you have your foot on the brake pedal, even lightly when this happens? My truck (w/1.5" leveling spacers) will occasionally do this when simultaneously braking lightly in a turn and hitting a bump. I think it is the ABS modulating pressure to one of the front calipers thinking that it may be locking up. I don't know if lifting the front makes them more sensitive, but it did not happen before I leveled it.

mine does that too when i come to a stop and start off. but its when it downshifts into first i can hear the slight pop and when i start off it does it. cant hear it when the windows are up so its not too terribly loud. it coming from under my feet i think.

mine was making a poping noise when I turned or hit bump real hard.after many times to dealer with no luck I took to a bigger dealer and it was my locking hub.replaced a buch of parts on front left wheel and noise is gone.

What kind of noise was it? grinding or popping? if it was more of a grinding noise its the TC kicking in...hit the TC button and see if it still does it...if its popping...could be a ball joint, axle, bearing, etc

The TC kicking on becomes worse also when you go with larger tires...but there is a TSB to reprogram that at the dealership...
