2014 Tremor - Looks fun!
Fordman,
Comparing the two doesn't make sense to you or me because we are not appearance buyers. Raptors and Tremors will be bought mostly by appearance buyers. They are both performance trucks and the appearance buyers don't care if they are different. They want the lifestyle or the "cool" factor. A buyer who is in the market for a Raptor or something fun to drive, finds a Tremor for $20k less, might very well buy it over the Raptor. They didn't say it would canibalize a great number of Raptor sales, just some.

I agree that too many raptor buyers buy them because they're "cool," but I don't know how many people are going to like a little two door when they were considering a crew can raptor. It's possible to steal a small fraction of the sales though.
But damn, kepcv! That went into depth there! I'd be surprised if you were from a state other than CA haha

I would love to have a Raptor AND a Tremor. But, alas, a Raptor won't tow my fifth wheel and a Tremor won't fit my family of 5.
Cannabalize just means to take away sales from. They are both performance trucks and appeal to appearance buyers so they go hand in hand. We have one on this forum. He was talking about buying a Raptor because his current truck wasn't working for him. And now he's talking Tremor. That's one lost Raptor sale and there's more where that came from specially with it being $20k less and since Raptors will be harder to find and not sold at every dealer. These buyers don't care about towing. The extra room in a supercrew is nice to have but they don't need that either. They want it for the looks.

Haven't posted here in a while, so I'm glad to be back. Anyway, I'm looking at getting a tremor in 2wd. What colors will they be available in besides grey and red? And since they come standard with the My Ford Touch system will it also have a rear camera and since all MFT setups have the sony amp setup does it also have the sub and where is it mounted?
I'm sorry 05Red, but that's what I call a Ford family! 3 brand new Focuses?! At least they're all different colors
I can't answer any of your questions though. I'm not sure if info like that has been released yet, but you're the first person who's expressed true interest in getting one. Those are "I'm buying one, what am I gettin?" questions!

Here is the same pic from a different angle, you can see there was room between them.

Back to the tremor, I remember seeing an ad in mustang mag for a tuner with canned tunes claiming 450 hp for the 3.5 EB motor in the trucks and somewhere around the 500 mark for TQ. Throw in a cold air intake and a good exhaust and you can have a stout little truck. I can only imagine what custom tunes are capable of.
If anyone really wants the 5.slow in the tremor, now is the time to let ford know. Back when the new 2012 focus came out, the top trim titanium only came with an automatic trans. After a massive public outcry, ford finally relented and made the 5 speed manual available on the job 2 focus titaniums. Of course there was no price discount for the manual like there was in the lower trims but you could get the trans you wanted. If enough people ask, I'm sure ford will make the 5.slow available in the tremor. Afterall it doesn't hurt to try.
