Glass waterspots: gone!
No, it won't fit in the garage. This issue has been bugging me since day one.
Used Cerama-Bryte (cooktop polish) on my windshield yesterday morning … bad water spots that nothing else could touch (Barkeeper’s Helper, 0000 steel wool, straight vinegar, CLR, household sprays). Worked quite well for a quick first effort. Don’t think anything other than glass polish works on water spots.
On a reliable tip, picked up a 14oz. tub ($8) of Amaz along with an Amaz “scrubber” pad ($1) at Ace. The directions call for a “gripper” pad, but probably the same thing.
The pad is somewhat like a Scotchbrite, but not as dense (abrasive), thicker, and white. Amaz itself is like thick paint, very gooey, also white. Anyway, I put a very small amount on the scrubber and worked on a 1ft. circle on the rear driver-side window that was all little water spots. Let it sit for about 3 minutes, buffed with a terry towel. Wow! Came out perfectly spot-free and with not that much elbow grease.
Cerama-Bryte did very well (still could see faint outlines in direct sunlight), but Amaz seems to be a perfect product. Rained heavily here yesterday afternoon and into this morning. The windshield still is pretty good after Cerama-Bryte. Water rolled off whether I was moving or parked. Will do the rest of the truck with Amaz after the rain (next 2 days) stops.
Don't like water spots on all that F150 glass, from inside or out. Hope that helps someone.
