2013 Keypad Entry Issue
I picked up my 2013 XLT Super Crew yesterday and I'm having an issue with the keyless entry keypad. When I enter my code to unlock the doors, they all unlock except the drivers door. However if I pull on the drivers door handle a second time it unlocks. My dealer has not seen this issue before and they are checking into it with Ford but I thought I would post it on here since you guys will be quicker to respond I'm sure
Does it do the same thing when you unlock it with the keyless entry fob? (double pull)? My 13 FX4 does this. I'm getting a new latch mechanism put in next week. Apparently the return spring is too weak on some and they have to replace the whole mechanism because it is sealed and has no adjustments.
I've had my '13 XLT since about February, and there has been a couple of times when I have used the key fob to unlock the truck and I had to pull on the door handle a second time before the door would open. I usually don't use the keypad, so I don't know if I would have the same problem with it or not. I wonder if there is a TSB for this issue?
It's not your keyless entry guys, it's a bad latch assembly. Ford has had this problem of some Mustangs also. I know by experience, as the Wifey's '13 Mustang had the problem. Dealer replaced the "latch assembly", and all has been well since. Don't let your dealer tell you any different, it's broke. They should fix it for you.
Thanks guys. I confirmed that I have the same issue when I use the fob to unlock the doors. I will be having my dealer replace the latch assembly soon. Has anyone seen this problem with other doors or is it always the drivers door?
I wonder if my dealer will fix this without it doing this for them? Since February, I can only remember two times that I had this issue, so it is definitely not something that can be duplicated easily on my truck.

Doug, hopefully the service dept. person will take your word. I couldn't get mine to do it to save my life, but thankfully the service writer was willing to believe me. It's not like you want your car worked on, and waste time at the dealer for no reason. Good luck.
