60,000 Service

Stealership or reputable local shop?

Just looking to get Trans/transfer case and coolant flushed.

Think you already made your choice with your decision to call them a stealership. I will choose my dealer when it comes time for that.

Either one can do those jobs easily enough.

If you know a good local shop and trust them it will probably be cheaper than the dealership.

I'd hit the dealer and hope the 'Tech' has done several before.

I have no issues with the Dealer doing the service other than charging a premium to do so.
The truck was bought with 56k on the clock from a non-ford dealer and I'm not sure what if any of the factory warranty applies.

The thing I've learned about the dealer is you can easily hold them accountable for screw ups and their equipment is usually good. I have no good shops near me so I just go to the dealer and take it like a champ lol

You have the balance of the factory 5 year/60k mile powertrain warranty. Preventative maintenance and fluid changes are never covered under any warranty.

I trust my local dealer, they do good work. There is also one independent in town that I trust.

The electrical bulkhead is easy to screw up and cause a leak when the transmission pan is dropped during service. If you use the dealership and end up with a leak, better chance of covering the EXPENSIVE replacement bulkhead grommet vs. trying to get a local shop to pony up for it.

Just my 2c...

Most shops these days don't drop the pan, they use a tranny fluid exchange machine.
