Questions About 2013 Platinum with Rear Wheel Liners

Just took delivery of my 13 Tuxedo Black Platinum. I have the Ford rear wheel well liners that I will be installing when the weather gets warmer. I also want to install either the Ford or Weather Tech mud flaps. Has anyone done this combination and are there any issues with the install or the results that I should know about before I start. I know the Weather Tech are no drill with some type of clamping system not sure about the Ford units.

The ford units require drilling, but are a nice set imo. Not sure about conflict with wheel well liners, but I would venture to guess that since they are both oem they should mesh pretty well.

I wouldn't even think about those OEM ones. The weathertech fit perfectly and I've had them on 2 with the rear well liners. It's a bit of a dawdle to get the rears on, but not bad.

I installed the OEM and it took all of 4 minutes a wheel but I don't have the fender flares. Happy with the fit.

With factory running boards you may have to unbolt them and slide them back an inch to fit front weather tech flaps....that's the case with the lariat. Not sure on platinum retractable ones though. I think either WT or OEM both look pretty good and serve their purpose.

Cool

I have an '11 Lariat with 6" chrome stepbars. I don't have the liners. I have the OEM mudguards, black. I purchased and had the dealer install them. I couldn't because of back issues. Took them less than an hour, including trimming the passanger rear to clear my exhaust tips. So I'm guessing the stepbars did not need to be removed. The front ones barely clear the front edge of the stepbar, maybe 1/2-3/4". They do a great job of keeping the muck off of the stepbars, and off of the side of the truck. I immediately noticed a differance, especially when I didn't have a 5" pile of mud on top of the stepbars.

I have Husky brand on two pickups and they have been very good. Have had zero issues with them. My 2010 still has them on 110,000 miles later and no issues. I put them on my new 2013. I did have to get the ones that are made for factory running boards, because of the way they fit on there. I am not sure if they are any better or not, but they were pretty easy to mount and never got loose or came apart.

L, just a bit of info. Before you install the liners you will need to cut the back of the push pins that hold the fender flare in place. Easy to do, but thought I would tell you. The WeatherTech flaps are very easy to install on the front, and the Plat running boards are not in the way. I don't have the rear ones, but as I understand any mud flap is a little tricky to install with the rear liners installed.

L Squared,
I have the exact set-up. The liners were installed by the dealer prior to delivery. I installed the WeatherTech M/G sometime later.
The installation was was without issue, I took my time and read the instructions.
Hope this helps,

Hello,
I just did the exact mod tonight after work. I installed the Ford Liners in the rear and the weather tech mud flaps all four, and last the weather tech Floor mats.
Very Easy install on everything.
