Now that I think of it the dealer nor Ford knows my email address. They normally send letters.

All of this could've been avoided if we had known the salutation of the original email.

The first sure-fire way to tell if you're receiving a spam email is to note the salutation. If it starts with, 'Dear Customer', 'To whom it may concern', or in ANY other form that doesn't include your name, there's a VERY high probability that it's spam.

Companies with which you actually do business know your name and will use it. Those who don't have to settle for 'Dear Customer', etc.

Still waitin' fer them linkies, Jawa (Wookie)....

Thanks for researching this guys. I was skeptical about the email, but one can't be sure these days. I know that everything you see on the internet is fact.

Well, I would say it's not the motor's fault or bad design that someone got lazy/sloppy on the assembly line and didn't remove cleaning media or whatever it turns out to be...now if it is metal shavings from premature wear - that's a whole diff ballgame...but we don't know that yet do we? I tell you both of my new Platinums (2009 and now a 2013) that I bought new were "sloppily" assembled...that Dearborn Plant needs to up their quality control, IMO!!

Glad to hear it is probably a hoax, but I still wish the Dearborn assembly plant would up thier game in the quality control area!
