Break in before towing with new F150 EB?

Ordered truck on Feb. 11th. Hoping it will be in beginning of April. We have a short trip (400 miles RT) scheduled the last week of April and wondering if there is any issues or considerations towing a 5,000 lb travel trailer with the new truck. I don't think engines need break in periods like the old days but I seem to recall hearing something about the eccoboost needing some break in period.

Read the owners manual. I believe it states either 500 or 1000 miles before towing. There is more than just the engine breaking in. Things like transmission clutches, rears, brakes, etc.

To read the manual for your new vehicle, go here.

Also note that the manual recommends premium fuel when towing.

I have a friend that is a Ford Master Tech, and he has told me to not worry at all about it. He said if you need to tow, then tow. He said that these trucks are fully capable of fulfilling all truck duties right off the lot. I towed with my new EB when it had just 500 miles on it in January. Now it has 8200 on it, and it is running great. I have towed 4 times with it so far. No issues.
