Looking at black on black 2013 FX2 - Chrome?

I'm selling my 2003 HD F150 with 174,000 miles.

I always loved the chrome look.

I've looked at a fully loaded fx2 for about $33,000 including ttl. A great deal. Has 20" wheels. Sony stereo. Black leather interior. Sliding rear window. Remote start. Heated / cooled seats.

I'm just trying to decide if I like the all blacked out look on the front. Is there a chrome option or can I change the grill in after market to more of a chrome color to break up the all black look?

I think it would be more appealing to the eye. Anyone have any pictures of something like what I'm describing?

I'm not sure if chrome is an option with the fx package. they usually have the paint to match bumpers and grilles. or at least the matched bumpers and flat black grille. you could always change it later if you wanted of course but you may not want to hassle with that.

Thanks. with a little more reading, i noticed it's not avilable from ford. May be time for a chnage. I may just get the 20s and later trade them in for something with more chrome on the wheels.

you could go with Lariat trim which has the chrome package. But you get the center console with shifter, as well as the MFT/Sync. If I can find a decent price on the FX2 with the 402A trim I am on it.

I bought a truck with the chrome package, and I could hardly wait to get rid of the chrome! Different strokes, I reckon.

Yeah I think my issue is I like black but with grill and all blacked out, it isn't as eye popping to me. Maybe I'll try It and see if it grows on me.

Or get a blue truck to provide some contrast to the all black grill and headlights and ptm bumper.

Typically I don't go for chrome with the FX package, but if done right you can incorporate chrome/stainless steel to break up the monotone look. My 2009 was the opposite as it was two-tone white over grey but I didn't like the cheap black grille, so I went with an aftermarket grille and tried to tie in with chrome sidesteps and machined/black wheels. I think the key is wheel selection as you'll want to tie in the black and black/dark grey trim of the FX package with any chrome you add. I think something similar would pop on your all black truck. Others have done similar with other colors. Just a thought.

Thanks for the ideas. I agree. I think I may be able to bring more wow factor to it with some bad *** wheels and rims.
