5.0 engine cover kit

http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewi...d=81813622329#

Has anyone installed one of these kits in their 5.0 yet. I contacted Roush and they said the engine cover would fit but the coil covers would need Dowel pins which neither they nor ford have a part number for. I think this would look rad.

you have to reroute the two hoses on top before the intake cover would fit. i have the coil pack covers on mine though. i just put some screws on the heads and jb welded them in place. the screw heads just pop into the rubber grommets on the covers. also if you dont want the cover sitting too far above the intake manifold then you have to do some trimming to one side of it

Joe that looks sweet...how are you liking the Rousch CAI? How much louder is the intake noise while driving?

HotLap - Joe that looks sweet
THANK YOU! for the compliment.

...how are you liking the Rousch CAI?
Nice growl (especially at WOT). Didn't expect performance and/or MPG gains (without a tune) and got it more for esthetics to clean-up the engine bay and get rid of the ugly resonated intake tube. *Tried to get ROUSH to just sell the tube.

I opted to add a pre-filter to keep-down the BIG chunks.

And will eventually replace the oiled-filter with a dry version.

How much louder is the intake noise while driving?
The 1000-2000RPM drone that others have noted IMO isn't that bad nor anoying. In fact don't hardly notice it especially since I eliminated the exhaust system resonator (so it too is slightly louder).

But then ... I don't tow much.

How do you get the grooves to match up against the manifold instead of having the engine cover sitting up high?

Thanks

Funny you ask that as I'm going to line mine with Dynamat 1/4" adhesive matting.

Also, my coil covers came in gray? Did you guys paint yours blue?

Gray = OEM Mustang GT

Blue = OEM Mustang Boss 5.0L or Ford Racing Performance Parts # M-6PO67-M50B

Darn!! Now I find out after receiving the gray. Oh well, the gray actually doesn't look too bad and will still dress up the engine bay. Thinking of painting the cover Tux black to match the exterior color. Also probably going to paint the stock intake housing Tux black as well. Installing the rear wheel fender well liners - MUCH better look than everything being wide open. Passenger side done and looks factory!!
