Quick Question - Stock Exhaust Same Between Ecoboost and 5.0?

Hey, guys, I have a quick question for you all. I searched around quite a bit but haven't found an answer. Are the stock catbacks from the ecoboost and 5.0 the same? Also, are the lengths different between extended cab and crew cab trucks?

I'm leasing my truck and want to make it a bit louder. I found a stock ecoboost exhaust on craigslist for $75 and thought I could pick that up and weld in a Magnaflow muffler for a little more growl. This way I can keep my stock exhaust intact for when I turn it in at the end of the lease.

Thanks in advance.

A couple pictures of my truck for your time

For the most part yes they are. I would go with a Roush cat-back. Good loud sound, tolerable inside. Removable later on without a trace that it was ever there.

Roush hands down, my brother had another customer at his work ask him if it was his truck outside this week. Apparently the guy hears it around and says it is very unique and sounds incredible. This is far from the first compliment he's gotten on it since he put it on this past summer. Ever since I have heard it I've promoted it, anyone that hasn't heard it in person has no idea what they are missing. I am not exaggerating when I say this: There is no better sounding exhaust on a truck I have ever heard in my life that sounds as good as the 5.0 with this exhaust. I am hoping my new set-up gets me a similar tone, it is the most amazing tone in terms of deepness and aggressiveness I have yet to hear. My Roush side exit on my '04 is not as loud as I want even with small cats and it is just too aggressive for my taste. I want deep and loud. The new Roush system has that and is very well designed. I will warn you, for someone like me who finds it nearly perfect (could be a bit louder for my taste, but just a tad) many "average exhaust modders" will find it over bearing. I followed via google a post on it on F150Forum that had well over 100 something responses in the thread and the OP there ended up putting in a resonator at one point. I think he took it back out, but just be cautious, 2011+ 5.0's/6/2's are the loudest cat back only F-150's. Just something to keep in mind.

i just have a 40 series flowmaster catback on my 5.0. i know a lot of the guys here dont light them though. i LOVE the sound of the roush system. i came close to getting that system but the tail pipes were't what i wanted. i wish i could find JUST the muffler from the roush system and i would cut that flowmaster out in a heartbeat.

I saw a post somewhere where a guy put an AFE 4" ecoboost exhaust on a 5L. He said was really loud compared to an aftermarket exhaust for a 5L. Any truth to this and why?

It should be the same as long as your cab style and bed length are the same for the two trucks you are working on. So the eco boost truck needs to have the same wheel base length as your truck, so it all fits in there. I took my resonator out of my eco boost truck and replaced it with a pipe from a 2010 5.4 and it fit perfectly. When the truck went off lease, I put the resonator back in it, and saved my straight pipe for the next truck which I still have. Before it leaves, I most likely take it off again and put the resonator back on.
