Ditched the Pirelli's - Firestone Destination A/T's
I did the same thing before Christmas. The Firestones are FAR SUPERIOR in the wet and in the snow. I can even glance out the side window at speed without the truck heading for the shoulder of the road.
The only thing I'm not really comfortable with is that, compared to the BFG All Terrain KO tires I was used to, the Firestones don't seem to have a lot of tread depth. Maybe its just my old eyes.
I know that you will find the Firestones a vast improvement over the Pirrellis.
Take Care

Any 275/55/20 tire has 11/32 to 14/32 tread depth.
Same as the 275/60/20s
Go to the 275/65/20s and tread depth goes up to 16/32
Same with 285/55/20s.
Usually that means a 10ply tire too.
I'm gonna drag my Hankooks Dynapros thru this winter(had them siped) but they won't be good enough for next winter.
Buying 20" tires is a PITA.
I want to stay close to stock size, and I want aggressive tread with some depth.
But I can't really have it...
Sadly one of few tires in a 275 55 or 60 series tire that has ok tread depth are Goodyear Silent Armours....I hate Goodyear!
BTW the Destination ATs are a 11/32 tread depth tire and that depth is very noticeable when tire sits beside one with 16/32.
It's the only thing I don't like about the Destination ATs.

Upgraded last Feb. when the Pirellis developed the cracks by the bead on all 4 tires. Big difference between them with great rain, snow and muddy road performance. Firestone for the win ... did a lot of research and these came out as best bang for the buck. I have had no problems in the snow's up here. Did notice that the traction control came on a lot less with Firestones than the Pirellis. I am very satisfied with the Firestone Destination A/T's ...
Piercede,
God bless you. I've been shopping for tires all week and was about ready to put my fist through the wall.
My factory Pirellis lasted an astounding 35K miles. I loved the look of the Pirellis, and really had no complaints with the ride. But 35K miles? I know the Texas heat doesn't help much, but still, I drive like an old man! That's it? Really? My frustration grew as nine different tire dealers proceeded to tell me that if I wanted 275/55R20's with OWL and without a super-aggressive tread, I would have to pay a small fortune for anther set of junky Pirellis. Yesterday, having swallowed my pride, I tried to price a set of ATR's at the Ford dealership since none of the local tires shops carry them (now I know why). The guy at the Ford place tells me he will NEVER order another set of Pirellis because, and I quote, "It takes five sets to get one good set." If it weren't for a call from work, I probably would have walked over to the sales department and traded the thing in for a new model with 18's (this is how much I hate black sidewalls).
I spent the day today getting paid to seach the web for tires (that'll be our little secret). I finally stumbled across your thread and photos, and the clouds have lifted!
So again, I want to thank Bing, F150online, Al Gore, and most of all, you for sharing your new tire experience with the world.
