We have on 09 F150, that when we run into a big water puddle, water splashes onto the windshield from the fender wells, so much we have to turn on the wipers, because we can't see for a moment, this happens in deep snow also, about 3inches or more. Is there a way to fix this problem?? I tried a search, and found nothing on this. Thanks in advance for your help and thoughts on this issue!

Then I'd be stopped. It has done this at around 10-15mph. Any more clues?

 

I have never experienced this with any vehicle unless it was a high rate of speed. My 2007 has molded plastic splash guards. That would be my first suggestion.

Second suggestion, do you by chance have aggressive tires on aftermarket wheels with a negative offset? Could be throwing it some, but shouldn't be tossing it that high. Against the body if anything at that rate of speed.

 

Box stock 09 F150. I have thought of adding wider fender skirts. But I can't tell if it's coming from outside the fenders, or from the fender/hood area. I've never had my 03 L do this, or my 98 F150. It's done this since we bought it it new in 2010.

Every F150 I've had since 1997 has done this... Once you know it's going to happen, you anticipate and either slow down or try to avoid the deep water... If those aren't options, be ready to drive blind for a few seconds... My '12 with 2" level doesn't seem to be as bad about this though... So maybe raising the front end with a leveling kit is a solution.

 

Yea every truck i've ever had does this... It's the tire actually splashing the water forward and up and then you drive thru it. No real way to stop that except go slower so it can fall before the windschield is there... But 10-15 doesn't happen sorry... it's more like 25- 30+

 

I'm pretty sure if you drive slow enough through deep water you won't have this issue. Every vehicle I have does this at one speed or another, but not if you slow down.

 

I have found that the water comes up over the front of the bumper (splashing from the tires) when you hit big puddles.

And this is with a stock wheel/tire setup.

Luckily mine also came with a stock set of windshield wipers and a stock handy-dandy wiper switch right by the steering wheel so I just utilize that!

 

Mine does it and I love it haha leveling kit and all with aggressive tires the water loves to shoot out the front

I don't get blinded by it though I would highly suggest getting some sort of hydrophobic treatment on the glass like rainX that will solve your vision problem
