It's that time again....

Well, guess what?

Yeppers, couldn't help myself but picked up another F150 except this time a FX4 with all the goodies.

The new baby boy meets his big brother!

Already put in a Line-X Bed Liner but other mods are coming soon including;

• BDS 2.5-inch Leveling System
• Goodyear Wrangler Duratracs (LT285/65R20/E) on 20-inch FX Wheels
• Tuxedo Lo-Pro QT Tonneau Cover
• Smittybilt Light Bar with with PIAA 540 Driving and 520 ATP Off-road Lights
• AMP Research Power Retractable Sidesteps
• Matching Front Tint

I'll get some more pics when done a bit more.

Here is latest with change to Zone 2-inch Leveling System:

I have no doubt in my mind the new truck will be just as awesome as all your past trucks. Congrats. Are you keeping hold of your other one or getting rid of it?

I'm not sure what makes me feel worse: A) That I can't afford a truck or B) That I'm so friggin' jealous of you!

I'm just glad I can show the fiancée there are people worse than me with swapping vehicles lol, thank you. I went through 3 lifted trucks this year and my '12 will probably end up the same.

Can't wait to see how the new one turns out!

Thanks Barrett! I am going to keep my mods pretty tame, at least for a little while. I am doing a lot more long distance commuting so not going with a lift and big MTs this time around. And yes, I think I will have the Plat for awhile still.

Sorry man, sure don't want to make anyone feel bad but I really just wanted to take advantage of the year end deals. I thought I was going to get another Plat for some reason the grey FX4 really caught my attention.

Thanks grim...lol...yeah, my wife is a real trooper. But you have me beat, it took me 18 months to swap 3 trucks (actually, 2 trucks since I still have the Plat).

Hehe....yeah, I guess no surprise for some. Thanks Matt!

I love them! At first, I wasn't liking the smoked FX4 HIDS as much as the clear ones, but then I saw them on the Sterling Grey FX4 and thought they looked great! Go figure.

Do you like EcoBoost more than the 5.0?

This is my second EcoBoost so I am thinking that I do like it a tad better; the throttle response and all out "get up and go" under lower RPMs is so much better over the 5.0L, but then again the 5.0L sounds a whole lot better and has more linear delivery through the higher RPM range where the Eco can taper out. But for me, I do notice a big difference since I live at +5000 ft. above sea level and so the EcoBoost just performs better.

To be fair, I loaded my current 5.0L with a lift and massive MTs and my new Eco is currently stock, but my 2011 Eco also had big meats so I can compare the two. This time around, I am going with slightly less meaty tires (and smaller lift) to try and salvage some of the mileage advantage of the Eco if possible (but not probable).

Thanks guys!!

hydro; I am hoping it turns out good considering that I am going to be more low key with my mods. The biggest issue is deciding on wheels as I think I like black wheels with these grey trucks but black is so overdone (everyone has them). So I am thinking of staying with the factory FX 20-inch wheels as I like them but also thinking it will be too much grey?

wanted; yeah, my wife does tolerate a lot with my vehicles...lol. We're both lucky that way for sure!

Yeah, I'm dying to see the stock 20's with that tire. I too don't want to go 305/55 either. I don't think it will be too much grey. I definitely wouldn't go full black either, that look is getting a little played out. I do like the wheels that share black & metal. BMF & Fuel make a few I like.

Yep, I am thinking LT285/60R20/Es; they are only 33.5 inches tall and 11.5 inches wide on the factory wheels so smaller than the Nittos I have been using previously. Otherwise, my only other choice in the Duratracs would be LT275/65R20/E which are almost as tall as the Nittos at 34 inches but much narrower at only 11.2 inches wide; they also should fit fine without any issues on the factory offset wheels and not weigh the truck done with too much mass. Decisions, decisions.

I thought about the BMFs; a lot of folks have them but not as numerous as the Fuels which I really like too. My dilemna is going with too narrow a tire like the 275s if I want to switch out later from the factory FX wheels to aftermarket ones that are wider and less offset.

The things we worry about.
