Dawg - I've ordered the Daystar 2" kit, and I'm going with goodyear duratrac 305/55/R20 tires. The wheels I like (Helo HE878) have a -12mm offset. Do you think I'll have clearance issues on front bumper, air dam or elsewhere? Have you run wheels with a similar offset and, if so, did they look like they extended too far outside the fender?

Thanks.

I ran -12mm wheels on my 2009 FX4 with a 4-inch lift and the 18x9 wheels pushed the 35x12.5 BFG KM2 tires out about 2.5 inches. I had some rubbing when backing out under compression but nothing serious. But with that much lift, the tires looked good so no issues there.

I ran -11mm wheels on my 2008 XLT with the 2-inch Daystar system and 305/65R18s that were 33.7 inches tall and 12.2 inches wide on the 18x9 wheels. The tires stuck out a couple of inches too but I also added 1-inch wide flares and so they didn't look like they were pushed too far out. It was a previous Gen truck but I did not do any trimming and had very little rub as well.

So I am thinking your 305/50R20s at 33.2 inches tall and 12.2 inches wide on -12mm wheels will stick out about the same, and may require some trimming at the back part of the front wheel well (where the flares tuck into the wheel well) and the lower front air dam some if you don't want any rubbing of body parts (but no issue clearing the UCAs).

Excellent info. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Dawg, so how are the tires and level working out? How much MPG did you lose and is the performance affected? I want those tires and keeping my stock wheels also.

Thanks!

So far, the tires have been great. I only have about 1500 miles on them but I can report that they handle great (with the 20-inch wheels) so have not experienced any of the "roll" during hard cornering that others have mentioned, and the grip has been great in both dry and wet conditions. I have not driven them in snow or taken off road yet.

As far as mileage, I lost between 1.5- almost 2 mpg with the EcoBoost which is less that what I lost with my '11 Eco with similar sized Nittos (lost about 2.5-3 mpg on average). But the Duratracs are much lighter and do not notice any loss of performance; in fact, I can break them loose under hard acceleration whereas the Nittos sort of bogged down the truck on initial acceleration.

Thanks BLACKOUT...really been enjoying the '13 FX4 even after coming out my Platinum (almost has all the same features but the FX4 just has a bit more attitude to it IMHO).

Since I just have the leveling system on for now, I compare it to when my Plat was leveled as well.

My bad when I made the original post; the tires are actually LT285/60R20s.

You can run the 275/65/20s too. I put them on mine. They are just a little taller at 34.1 vs 33.5 and a little narrower.

That's true! I had considered that size because they are taller, but didn't want to go that narrow. But still a good choice for sure.

The duratracs look good in either size. Much depends on your local terrain and how much off-road your will do.
I will have to say that I really like that front light bar Desert Dawg and the more I see it I want to add a bull bar with lights or ?

Desert Dawg, have you had any rubbing issues at all?

I am considering the 285/60/20's or the 275/65/20's that Rogue has.

Will be leveling with Bilistein 5100's.

Personally, I prefer the light bar over the bull bar as the light bar looks cleaner to me.

No rubbing at with my setup, so no trimming either.

Desert Dawg,

It appears as though the lights don't extend much beyond the bar. You have a side pic of it?
Also where did you place the switch?

Thanks!
