Alpine Nav thoughts.

Found a boxing day deal for a Alpine INA-W910 DVD NAV unit for under $600, and I'm considering it........... any words of advice for install headache, continued steering wheel controls, approximate cost of extra bits not included in the box? ect......

I've done plenty of stereo installs in the 90's, but never any steering wheel controls, or NAV.

The unit is like ... http://www.crutchfield.ca/Alpine_INA...500INAW910.htm but at a local retailer.

You will need a dash kit (~$20) and an adapter for the steering wheel controls (~$80). You will also need an antenna adapter (~10) and adapter to keep the Sync system if you want it (~100).

If your truck came with factory NAV I dont think any aftermarket stereos will work in it.

If you call up that crutchfield place and tell them what truck and radio you have they can sell you everything you need to install it in one package and I think that includes an instruction sheet for installing a radio into your specific vehicle.
