Winter Prep for the FX4!

It's been decently nice in the daytime the last couple of days here (50's) and dry so I decided to lay down some protection for the winter on it.

Duragloss 501 RV Polish and Cleaner w/ Duragloss 601 Polish Bonding Agent mixed @ a 4:1 ratio (2oz 501, .5 oz PBA), on a Flex 3401 polisher with a white foam 5.5" LC pad. This was the cleaning step as the 501 has some really good cleaners in it.

I then followed with Duragloss 105 Total Performance Polish and the PBA again, also @ 4:1 ratio (saves time and an application step) with a blue finishing pad on a Griot's Garage DA polisher.

Finally after 12 hours between the first 2, then hit it with Duragloss Aquawax spray wax for the last step. Dressed the tires with Duragloss 253 I think, Rubber dressing. Cleaned the windows with Sprayway aerosol foam.

Any questions please feel free to ask, I think it turned out nicely.

The ecoboost emblems are coming off this weekend and being replaced with the Lincoln MKS little black ones under the front fender 'F-150' badges. I still want to get some 275/65/20 tires very soon though.

Here is a sample, I'll post more in a couple of hours!

Hmm.. what's this in this box? Maybe in a week or two..

Thanks for looking!

After seeing yours I need to get a set of the black and red emblems to replace my black and chrome ones. A black and red ecoboost badge would probably look good too.

I may just do this:

Nice looking truck, the black wheels look great with the red truck.

Weather sure has been nice for Chicagoland in December. I just had a Krown application done to my truck, I recently plastidipped my bumper and plan to plastdip my wheels.

I got these from the parts dept where I get a nice discount, but that way works great too and more color options.

That Krown treatment is for the northern people, it's like a thick oil?

Looks great dirty ape. I love what you've done to your truck since you got it.

I see you're on autogeek too.

Which splash guards are those? I need to do something with the tailpipe on mine too. It's kind of cheap looking on such a pricey truck.

The oil is a carrier for the water barrier, when they wpray it in the door its actually atomised pretty well and it gets in all the weld seams. They do spray the underside surface with a different gun that applies the material thicker like a paint.

What wheels are those?

Those are the Weathertech no-drill, I really like them. With the ecoboost the motor keeps the exhaust tip covered in carbon splatter though.
