My new trucks windshield
My new trucks windshield
Hi all!
Well..... I finally traded my '98 supercab, after almost 15 years of great service to me. I have to say it was a sad day (but also good
) I'm now the proud owner of a 2012 XLT 5.0 supercab in blue flame, I tried to get one as close as i could to my old truck.
Anyway..... all in all it's a great truck, I love all the features & do-dads etc... I had a few concerns right at the dealer that I'm surprised I don't hear more about on here, like the bed mis-alignment. I also had a chip in the paint on the back of the cab.....of which they took care of for me, but the most anoying issue I have is the windshield has deformations in it, right in the drivers line of view. It took a while for them to see it, but they did, and admit it's not right. A complaint was sent to Ford along with pictures etc.... they said it is normal and will not address it but the dealer is trying to get it replaced. I have seen this a lot in various cars & trucks over the years so I know it's common, but I never had it on any of my Ford trucks.
Anyone else have this problem & does it bother you? Did you inform your dealer? The service manager and I checked a few other F-150's on the lot and most of them have it but not all are in the drivers view.... even a 2013 FX4 had it.
I would be very disapointed if I have to buy a windshield for my brand new truck.

can't say I've noticed anything on mine. I'm meticulous with the windshield (keeping it clean, looking for chips, etc.) and everything seems ok. What plant built your truck? I wonder if they received a bad batch?
