2013 fx4 vibration
2013 fx4 vibration
I will start by providing as much info as I can... I took my empty single enclosed Triton 12ft snowmobile trailer to pick up my sled. Once I loaded the sled I noticed a pulsing vibration between 80 km/h (50 mph) and 100 km/h (62 mph). It feels like driveline vibration through the seat of your pants which goes away above 100 km/h. The vibation is not there pulling the empty trailer or no trailer at all and was not present with my previous 2004 f-150. I tried switching to tow/haul mode and the vibration remains the same. The vibration itself pulses like a flashing light and is there when the truck is hot or cold. I drove for 2 hrs at 120 km/h and as soon as I slowed to 100 k it returned. The only thing I didn't try yet is putting the transmission into manual shift mode. I'm thinking torque convertor shudder but just a guess.
I am hoping someone here may know of a tsb on this because I really don't want Ford to do any exploratory surgery if it's not needed.
Thanks in advance, Paul

Sorry to hear you are having an issue. I would like to hear what the explanation is because I have ordered a 2013 FX4 to replace my 2011 FX4. I don't have this issue with my truck right now and it has 43k on it. What I would like to know is if you are from Canada and have the HIDs what comes on for the DRLs? Here in the states it is not mandatory so I have to have them programmed.
glc: I have the 5.0 engine.
cdmm151: I am in Canada and have the appearance pkg. which includes hid lights. As for drls the front signals bulbs below the headlights illuminate when in drive. When I manually switch the headlights to on the signals dim and stay on as parking lights.
