Leather Seat Stretched

My truck is a 2012 SuperCrew FX4 w/ 4k miles on it and the leather on the drivers seat is stretched out bad where I sit. I'm not a big guy, I'm 160 lbs and 6' tall. I'll take a picture and post it. Has anyone else had this issue?

Mine looks simillar to yours with some cracking on the side bolster, my truck is a 2013 with just under 1000 miles on it. I just put the leather conditiner that I got from the dearship on all the seats and im going to keep an eye on them. Im wondering if there is some kind of space for some kind of air pocket for the heated and air conditioned seats that is alowing for extra flex.

I haven't had any problems with the leather on my seats and I have the heated and cooled seats. I'm quite a bit heavier than the OP and haven't had any issues. I do have some discoloration due to wearing dark/new blue jeans, but then again I have the tan interior.

My 2012 Lariat Super Crew with black leather is looking perfect. I've got 6,800 miles on it. I'm a big guy at 6'1" 300 lbs. I used the cooled seats all summer, and the heated seats get daily use now.

I'm sure there is a little break stretch to some seats, but I would get that documented with the factory.

A driver from the dealership picked up my truck today to fix the paint issues after trying for nearly 5 months to get it fixed. I showed him the seat and he said that he'd point it out to them when he drops it off.

I would absolutely get that documented with Ford so they know you have an issue. I can understand a LITTLE bit of stretching/break-in, etc, but that is surely excessive. Methinks you got yourself a legitimate warranty claim there, bud.

Keep us posted. As impressed as I continue to be with Ford's quality merchandise, from what I'm hearing over the past few months their "warranty" coverage leaves much to be desired.

That seems to be dealership based. I have two decent size dealers in my area the closest one has horrible customer service and worse prices. The slightly smaller and 20 miles farther away one has great service and prices. Unfortuantely they are only open during the week and I'm not taking two days to get my oil changed.

^^ Very true! The dealer can make LOTS of difference in warranty situations. It just seems like I've seen lots of fellas getting the "that's normal" answer directly from Ford when the issues in question were definitely not normal.

Seems like I've always had the best luck taking the vehicle back to the dealer from which the truck was purchased. If they know you, remember you, etc, it seems to help.

i had to get a new Leather Seat cover on my drivers side after only about 5000 miles, it was all stratched and starting to peal. Pretty sickening when you consider the price!

Can't you find a trustworthy independent shop for simple oil changes? I use a good local quick oil change joint. Yes - there are good ones, it all depends on management.

Ford warranty coverage has definitely tightened up. The backshell of the headlight assembly on my wife's Expy started to separate after about 10K miles. The dealership tried to help me but Ford won't replace it. They claim I damaged it. I've never touched it other than washing.

After hearing constant reminders of rip off oil change stations, it might be worth a small bit of consideration to put a permanent marker spot on your oil filter before you go to the shop. Check for your mark after the work is done......

They don't mess with me - I'm standing just outside the door watching them.

I could, but.....The "jiffy" lube places charge as much as the dealership and the one good shop I trust isn't open on the weekend. That leaves me with the choice of paying for who knows what working on my truck for the same price as the dealership. The deciding factor is the dealership can give me a ride to work when I drop of my truck. My work also has all of its maintenance done at the dealership, since its right down the road.

I had a little of what your picture shows. Seemed to go away after I put some Mother's one step leather care lotion on the seat. Maybe softening up the leather helps it sit pretty again. ( How could it NOT stretch with my butt on it ?...)
