Factory LCD screen aftermarket kenwood nav with maestro

Replaced my factory non navigation radio with a kenwood dnx6190hd navigation system with maestro idatalink Rr. Have all sync function except for the sat radio. My small factory sync LCD display is blank now although all music info and phone info shows up on the new kenwood radio was wondering if anyone has found away to change the factory display or have it say the built for tough at all times.

Thanks

Hey rlwatson,

I was looking to replace my factory radio with the Kenwood DNX7190HD unit myself. How does the Maestro connect to the radio? I've heard it's through the satellite radio connector but I don't know for sure. How do you like the new unit? Where did you buy your unit and the Maestro at? I won't ask price cause I know the rough cost on them already...gotta save for that much radio. I don't know if there is any way to have the LCD in the dash show the "Built Ford Tough" all the time or not. I'm sure it has something to do with the way the wires connect via the Maestro setup. I also have an '09 XLT with the factory radio in it that has the SAT radio built in.

Connects at the same spot where the sat radio would so with this radio its keep sync or sat radio. i have been told some trucks the sat radio is not in the factory head unit and can be used with this setup. Everything else works great steering wheel controls have a little delay and the unit itself boots kind of slow. love having everything on the kenwood screen just wish i could control the factory lcd somehow it stay plank right now.

They do make a PAC system which would go in place of the Maestro that plugs sync threw a aux port so you could use sat radio but have been told it doesnt work as smoothly.
