Led turn signal mod PROBLEMS

I see a lot of you have done this with no issues, NOT ME!

Worked great in the driveway but as soon as I hit the road the right side did not work and left side was normal light and flash speed. Went to dinner, started truck and no lights at all, blown fuse. Put in a 25a instead of 20a, worked great for a few tries then right side stopped working again and left side flashing fast. I know the fuse swap is a bad idea, I just wanted to see if it was pulling too many amps plus I didn't have a tester in the truck. I'm rudderless with no paddle...

Did you put resistors across the lead and ground wires?

I did not, I went off the YouTube video and skimming this site. What kind/type, resistance load, +- variation? I'm not a low voltage electrician or engineer of any sort. What is everyone here using?

with the side that didnt work. are the bulbs in backwards? i use V-leds and they have to be installed with the correct polatiry.

in my 2009. i had to install diodes also , or the running light voltage , would backfeed into the turn side. where when not running the parking lights or full on runningn lights. when turning right, the left hand side would dimly blink. if i had resistors in there, im sure that stray voltage would get eaten up by the resistors.

i just got a 2013 and transfered all the bulbd over except the switch backs in the front parking/turn. where they are white, and when turning they are amber, both bulb colors on same package.
i dont have diodes installed in anthing. however when i try to install the switch backs. now. they light up for a second. and go out. SMJ- smart junction box senses the backfeed and shuts them down. so ill throuw some diodes in there, up front to see if that fixes it.

hyperflash usually is not a huge deal. there is still a definate on. off, on. ive never had any cops compalin. and no one has ever not seen when im turning or stopping.

where did you get lights. ? did you install 4 in back. and the two up front ?
can you provide links to bulbs?
one thing to note is there could be CK type bulbs installed . those wont work in a ford.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=V8ONj-NJdjA

there is a description of a CK type setup, at the above youtube video.
ive never had a fuse blow. which leads me to belive there might be an incompable bulb setup.

They are two LED light strips in the reflector. I thought about going with bulbs all around but after this experience, I'm putting it back to normal and not messing with it. I'm not in the mood to figure out the best resistor-diode combination. I don't understand the 'smart' junction boxes for lights. What the heck happened to 12v + - ground and using the correct wire size to fuse. Makes me wish I didn't get rid of my 75 Wagoneer. Cars/Trucks are getting too difficult and complicated to work on. Thanks for the help.
