Greasy front tow hooks

I have a 2012 Lariat 4x4. The other day I bent down in front of my truck to listen to the very noticeable tapping sound my ecoboost makes when ideling, (I guess it is normal for some ecoboosts to do this ) and I put my hand on one of my front tow hooks and was shocked to notice it was covered in grease, and so was the other one. Has anyone else noticed this on their new trucks?

You have chrome tow hooks? Yes, they grease them to protect them from rust. Had mine replaced once from rust and the replacements where coated.
