Power window lock question
Power window lock question
When you put the switch to locked for your power windows, does it prevent all the windows from operating from anywhere but the drivers door, or only the back seat windows?
I ask because I am having issues with my window buttons on the drivers door. The passenger front window only works occasionally from the driver's side and had started acting up from the passenger side as well, so I locked the window controls so no one would lower the window from the passenger seat until I can get to the dealer.
So my son was in the truck with me yesterday, and lowered the passenger window down before I could stop him. I thought I had unlocked it by mistake, but nope. still locked, yet it went up and down from the passenger seat.
Is that normal, or another issue I am having?

From the manual......
Window lock
The window lock feature allows only the driver and front passenger to operate the power windows.
To lock out all the window controls (except for the driver’s and front passenger’s) press the right side of the control.
Press the left side to restore the window controls.
Note: The rear window switches will not illuminate when the window control is in the locked position.

Two things in addition to the correct responses above:
First, it might be only me who hits the lock button every once in awhile when using the armrest as an assist to exit the vehicle, but that could be for another discussion.
Second, my son's durango was having intermittent problems with the front passenger window. Then it stopped working completely, then the back window, then the doorlocks. At first I was peeved, because we had already replaced the whole master switch panel in the armrest. So I pulled it off to look at it and the connector was barely hanging on. Was not clicked into place from the get go. plugged it in, reattached the rest and Viola! Works like it should now.
