Extra parts with new 2012?
Extra parts with new 2012?
I searched but couldn't find it. I just bought a 12' FX4 crew with Luxury, and I got 2 bags with parts. One is marked as a plug for the backup camera, but I don't know what the other bag is for. The dealer didn't know either?
The bag actually has 2 parts in it, one is a square part looks like a solenoid or something, the other is maybe a cap?

I have a 2011 FX4 and it had the same "extra parts" you describe. The part marked camera is for when, or if you ever take the tailgate off, you must unplug the wiring, and it covers the truck side of the plug from dust, water, etc. The relay is for the power supply to the rear trailer connection(to power/charge your RV battery), it goes in the fuse box under the hood, the box is in the middle front of the engine bay. Hope this helps.
I know this is my first post, but I have been lurking on here ever since I buying my 2011. Great site lots of information.

think ford might of wanted to keep it from shorting out if it gets wet or something? but thats just a guess
Mine came with the TBC and the bag-oh-parts. I do use the 7-pin connector, and installed the fuse and relay. As far as it "shorting out", I believe that is what the fuse is for ! I'd go ahead an install it just so you don't lose it. You might want to switch to the 7-pin at some point, then you'd be able to charge your boat battery while you drive.
