2009 2010 f150 vibration shudder TSB 10-06-06

Hey guys its been a while but might have some handy info for you guys with the 2009/2010 with the shudder vibration issue.

There was a TSB for this issue which as far as i can find out was to change out the TQ converter. Well that TSB dispaered from the face of the earth with 99% of dealers but today a found a new TSB that supersedes it. TSB 10-22-11 but it no longer changes out the TQ converter and for some reason no longer includes the 5.4! the Ford rep i spoke to said to try the new TSB and if it dont fix the issue ask for a replacement TQ conveter as this should be the only fix left. My dealer is gonna do the update even though it dont include the 5.4 in the TSB as its the exact issue i have with my 5.4 and the old TSB for this issue included the 5.4 hope this helps some of you guys out.

"Special Advisory"

SOME 2009-2010 F-150 VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 6R80 TRANSMISSION MAY EXHIBIT A SHUDDER WHICH IS FELT DURING LOW SPEED LIGHT THROTTLE ACCELERATION BETWEEN 30-35 MPH (48-56 KM/H), THE SHUDDER/VIBRATION EVENT OCCURS TYPICALLY WHEN THE VECHICLE DOWNSHIFTS AND THEN IS FOLLOWED BY A LIGHT THROTTLE TIP-IN. See TSB for complete details Effective date 4/01/2010

TSB
10-22-11

Some 2010 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 4.6L engine, 6R80 transmission and built between 6/1/2009 and 12/1/2009 may exhibit a shudder which is felt during low speed, light throttle acceleration between 25-45 MPH (40-72 Km/h). The shudder/vibration event typically occurs when the vehicle downshifts and is followed by a light throttle tip-in. A new calibration is available to address the concern.

UPDATE

They did the reprogram and not one shudder or vibration in the last couple of days. fingers crossed it has stopped doing it. I will give another update in a week.

I hate this new transmission. 2010 4.6 3v 4x4. Some times I get loud bangs from it. When I let off gas then lightly apply going up hill. Then I get what seems like down shifts coasting with no throttle. time for reflash. And harsh shift from 1 to 2 gear.

Yes its covered under your 60K mile 5 year warrenty if it is the TQ converter. I been told by the Ford tech and my brother who both seem to know their **** that its def a TQ conveter problem. The stupid thing is that the TSB says only for the 4.6 engines now but its been an issue on the 5.4 also. i will let you guys know how it went on wednesday after they look at this reflash.

Took it to Ford and had a copy of the TSB-10-06-06 in hand I bought the Quicksilver Mercury marine grease 2-4-C Lubricant with Teflon
92-802863A and they done it for FREE.
ALSO
Some 2009-2010 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 2 piece driveshaft only and built on or before 12/1/2009 may exhibit a rear driveshaft slip/bump concern on light to moderate acceleration from a stop or when coming to stop with light braking.

I have a 2010, and I am having a similar problem.

I called the Ford dealership today after reading this, and they said there were no recalls for my truck according to my VIN.

Were there recalls for the TSB's for your trucks? Did you have to refer to the TSB's to get the delaership to apply them?

I dont know what to do...

Its gotten to the point where I hate this truck...

Thanks,

Isaac

TSB=Technical Service Bulletin.

They are official letters from the FoMoCo telling what they will pay for and how to make the repairs.

There won't be a recall for a TSB and alltho the TSB's are availible at the dealers, a shop man WOULD have to be aware of them, which a lot aren't.

I'd print out the TSB in question and present it to the shop foreman.

My 2012 5.0 4x4 with 4,500 miles on it is shuddering. It happens at low speed and light throttle. It feels like a manual trans idling rolling along in 2nd or 3rd gear. I sure hope there is a fix because this just sucks!
