this is exactly why some of us like xlt's and lariats. Paint just doesn't hold up on truck bumpers. It may have held up better in the past, but it can never match chrome or standard painted plastic car bumpers.

Belay, if an area of YOUR truck developed a rust bubble, or series of rust bubble and there was no hint of rock chips or impact damage, would you consider it a warrant-able concern?

Whether it was your rear bumper, or the door skin around the handle, or even a front bumper? If the area had no signs of impact damage, would you simply chalk it up to salt on the roads, and it must be YOUR fault?

I believe you are going on the premise here that because it is a front bumper, the rust must be a result of rock chip damage. IF you are making this assumption, then you would be absolutely WRONG.

You are entitled to your opinion, and are encouraged to express them, but comments like

No.

It's not the manufacturer's fault. But of course, I was responding to a post about bumpers, not door handles. Thanks for changing the scenery, but the fact remains that rust on a 5/6 year old truck is not going to be a manufacturer's defect. Warranty covers manufacturers defects, not the results of ongoing exposure to environmental factors.

Gee, where would I get the idea he is talking about stone chips? By the way, neither the original poster nor I ever said anything about front bumpers or rear bumpers, we referred only to "bumpers". Most vehicles have two, and I have seen numerous vehicles with stone chips on either end. Please forgive the original poster as well as me for not being as specific as you.

Belay is right. Dealers won't fix problems like that. They would classify them as "wear and tear"

Bubbles forming on my rear bumper, definatly not stone chips. Asfor the front yes I am assuming thery are stone chips as my 1 year old F-150 has never seen snow/salt and hardly even Rain...
