What would you do?
Being from Texas, the 4x4 will resell quicker, and while I don't know the Dallas area all that well, there are lots of places to go in this state that having 4wd would be beneficial. For instance, I grew up on the coast, and go back often. Nearly everytime I go to the beach, I see at least 1 2wd truck stuck where it shouldn't be...
2wd's sell here, but obviously at a much cheaper price as an equally equipped 4wd.
I'd go 4wd if you think you might need it, if not save the money and get a few more options on the fx2.
Fuel mileage is almost a wash between 2wd and 4wd. To put it in perspective, a 4wd scab 5.0 is roughly the same weight as a 2wd screw eco (20 lbs difference IIRC from some magazine weights).
dallas snow and ice is not going to stop a 2wd from going any where.
