Ford didn't put one on the passenger side of a right hand drive F150. The driver-side got one though. It appears that there wasn't any made at all for the left-hand side of the truck.

Never gave much thought to it since I've never looked at a Ford interior until I got mine. Is there much difference between the '09+ interiors and the '04-'08? Seems like one could just add it in since the last bodystyle had it and the interiors look similar.

I'm pretty sure there's not.

There is, at least on my 2010 there is. Out of curiousity today I yanked my a-pillar off and there's a bag tucked and wired in there. I'm halfway thinking about how to make it work since I found some OE replacements in ebony black that would look awesome on my truck.

Mine, too.

Take a 20lb sledge hammer to the driver's door and it'll deploy.

A grab handle in that area would probably cause serious injury when the airbag deploys.

I was thinking more along the lines of deleting the airbag or relocating it somehow so the light doesn't go off. The a-pillar is definitely made to come off easy in an airbag deployment and being bolted down by the grab handle would be a bad idea I agree and not something I want exploding in my face.

Agreed I am 61 with two compressed discs (herniated discs) getting in and out is painful. The grab handle take some of the stress out of it, and make getting in less painful. Ford if you are listening -- we could use an aftermarket solution for the models that don't have a drivers side grab handle. There are lots of disabled Americans, we have cash......just saying

danielward ...
*heads-up* The thread is 9-years old, the last post was 9-years ago, and FoMoCo listened and put 'em back-in beginning in 2015.

As for gen' 12 F-150s (2009-2014) ...

A-pillar grab handle addition is not easily done without creative fabrication. *Know of only 1(one) incidence of it being done. » I miss my pillar grab handle badly.... «

Best bet is to install something on the order of the following ..... e.g.

*Rugged Ridge part # 13305.10
.
