test heated/cooled seat module without dealer?
test heated/cooled seat module without dealer?
Hello,
I have a 09 platinum. The heated and cooled seats stopped working recently. You press the button, the light comes on for a second or two and goes out. The truck is out of warranty, I was wondering if there is a way to test the seat control module that I could do myself? I have been searching the forums and otherwise and cannot find anything on how to do it. Maybe I have to go to the dealer? Don't really want to though.
Thanks,
Ryan

i have read on here and other forums. there is a filter that is located in a module under the seat. if your truck has been around dusty/dirty conditions with the windows down and the seats running. and or it is just used a lot. that filter may be plugged up.
even in cool mode with a plugged filter , it may overheat..
try a search and see what comes up. im sure there is more than one article on here about this issue.

find the fuse for the DCSM (Dual Climate Control Seat Module) pull it for 5 minutes.....this will cause it to reset....if it doesn't reset it could be any number of possibilities.....then it will have to go to the dealer to see the codes and get the resistance checked....
you'll have to look in your owners manual for fuse location.....it also might be in your best interests to get a service manual dvd....
