2012 left hand steering issue

I have a 2012 5.0 4x4 and it has the left hand steering issue. Hangs, catch, whatever you want to call it. You can power through the issue but still the truck steers funny when turning to the left at 35-50mph. Anyone else have this going on and what all was involved to fix the issue? I have already found the tsb 11-8-18 but that doesn't include mine because it was built in feb 2012

Take it to the dealer, if they blow you off-keep taking it or take it to a dealer that will listen. Its still under warranty so its Fords problem to deal with. There was another thread about steering issues, not sure if your particular model was included in that though.

Been experiences this on and off for 6months now. 2012 5.0 4x4 43600 miles. I have narrowed down this experience to trips over 20miles. I have a 38mile commute one way most days and the steering wheel will stick at the 1030 11 o'clock position is the same turn on the interstate in downtown ATL every time. However the dealer can not reproduce the steering sticking. They will not drive it further than 8miles because that is what fords recommends. I have presented the tsb to the dealer and since there is no codes being thrown in diagnostics they can not help. When the steering sticks towing a sizable load your life will flash before your eyes if you're not ready to correct the wheel back to center. If not, you will change lanes before you realize or put it in the wall as my wife about did. I damn sure don't want to teach my kids how to drive in this vehicle. Whats the next course of action?

Tell them you can get the truck to reproduce the problem. Once you have them in the vehicle, dont go back until they see it first hand.

Seems like a pretty serious problem to stand on technicalities. Does Ford have a nanny in the vehicle that alerts them when the vehicle is driven over the recommended diagnostic mileage? The fact that there is a TSB acknowledges there is a problem. It would seem to me that your complaint should be enough to proceed with the TSB.

Hi Brown255,

I recommend you speak with the service manager at your Ford Dealer, as he is in the best position to ensure a proper diagnosis, and look into any available options and/or coverage for any work needed. Also, remember repairs done at a Ford Dealer come with a 24 months/unlimited miles warranty.

You can schedule an appointment online here. Let me know the outcome.

Hi Elul,

Send me a PM with your VIN, dealership information, full name, and telephone number. I'll get this reviewed for you.
