Thinking of trading my 2011

Took my 2011 F-150 FX4 with 25,000kms and all the goodies (NAV, Moonroof, 20's, Ford Tonneau cover, backup cam, Ford auto start, heated leather etc etc) into my local Ford Dealership this past weekend, they appraised it at $33,000, bang on the Blackbook price! Let me say I almost **** myself...This was a $55,000 truck 12 months ago...

What do you guys think this truck it worth? Spotless inside and out, NO scratches, dents or ANY imperfections at all...

25 to 30 k is what i was thinking. and i am not trying to be a smart @$$. remember the second you drove it off the lot it drooped its value by 18% and you didn't even get one mile on the clock, plus every mile and every 12 months drop it. every year its like a kick in the butt thats why it takes 3 to 5 years to keep it from being up side down when you trade it in! i know it sucks but thats how they work it.

Must be a regional thing. I just traded my 08 FX4 w / 60000 mi without all the bells and wihistles for a 2012 Lariat 4x4 with all the bells and whistles, they gave me 21k for the old one. I'm in AZ though.

its bites but its called depreciation.....buy it brand new and you'll loose 15%--30% when you drive it off the lot....

another thing is the law of supply and demand....if the market is saturated with them then your truck ain't worth it......

try a private sale....

How quaint.

The dealer is going to blow you as low as possible, so he can re-list it higher as a used vehicle. You would make more money selling private party.

Did you KBB or NADA it? My 2010 XLT is worth 29,000+, hard to imagine yours being only 33,000.

Why on Earth would you trade in a one year old truck??? I don't care if the new one could fly, it ain't worth losing so much money!

$33,000 isn't that bad. My truck is nearly the same truck minus the navigation and tonneau cover. The sticker on my truck was $48,000, not sure how yours was $55,000. Ford Canada pricing different? Either way I got my truck for $35,000. I hope you didn't have to pay MSRP. If so than yeah I can see how $33,000 would seem bad. If my dealer offered me $30,000 for my truck with 7,000 miles on it, show car shape in fact I would be thrilled.

The list prices are higher in Canada, but the discounts are generally greater as well. A truck that had a MSRP of $55,000 would sell normally for about $40,000. A year later worth $33,000 as a trade in seems reasonable to me. On a trade in you only pay tax on the difference between the new truck and the old truck so $33,000 is really worth $37,290 (13% tax).

I sold a 2005 crew king ranch 4x4 one year ago. Sold privately and got my asking price of $23,000. It had 80,000 miles. I'm in South Carolina
