04-08 brakes on an 09

Are brakes from 04-08 F-150s interchangable with 09-12 trucks?

I am talking 4WD trucks.

actually yes for 09 only. I changed my 09 pads right after I bought the truck because of excessive dust and put on some Porterfield pads, the same part number for 04-08 trucks and I had the Porterfields on my old 04 truck too. Later, my brother needed new pads for his 06 truck so I gave him my factory 09 pads and they fit his truck no problem. both trucks are 4x4's.

I would say no for 2010-up because Ford upgraded the brakes that year.

Starting in 2010, Ford (finally) fitted larger front brakes. This includes larger diameter rotors and all. After what I went through on my 2005 with brakes, the ones on my 2010 were a welcome relief.
