2010 Stock E-Fans Question

Hello,
I have a question about my two electric fans. I have never seen or heard both fans running at the same time. But one fan will run by itself if the A/C is on. And that's the only time I've seen either of them turn on, just one with A/C.
Is that normal? And when does the other fan turn on?
I just want to make sure of things before my warranty expires.

Thanks guys,
Justin

The other fan will run when it's needed. Have you ever overheated? No? Then yer fans are working as designed.

I'd worry less about yer fans, and far more about what the K&N is doing to yer engine. Yer almost certainly inducing a lean condition with no corrected tuning installed. No additonal power to be had as the stockerflows at least as much already, despite all the marketing BS in the world ( and K&N's is some of the worst) , Sorry.

Thanks for the heads up! Sounds like I need to do some more research on the whole intake thing, crap.

Here's a VERY good read:

And another:

Intakes that do not require a tune are often just as restrictive as stock and do not result in large power gains.

In short (okay, not so short, lol) - yer 2010 4.6 3V has a slot-style MAF. relocation of same is cause for concern. Yer truck is NOT immune to these effects, and ONLY a corrected tune or a return to the stock intake, or direct measurements to confirm/deny the presence of said effects, is going to be prudent.

I won't even mention what migrant filter oil can do to yer MAF. Or the filtration effectiveness ( as in lack thereof) of that element - after wiping out my intake tube and cleaning the crap off the MAF sensing element more times than I can count I just chitcanned the whole thang. If you had a tuner, with the capability (e,g SCT X3) you could monitor/datalog the efan Pids, coolant temps, etc, to ease yer mind that they are working as designed. Just another reason to own one, IMHO - a very valuable diagnostic tool indeed.

MY opinion only - okay?

Best of luck!
