Sony navigation system problems

Has anyone experienced a problem with the navigation systems in the 2012 F150. Last few times I have driven my vehicle the navigation emblem comes up on screen telling me there is no GPS. If I restart the vehicle, the GPS engages properly. I have also noticed a problem with sirius radio maintaining contact with sat. Within a mile of leaving home the service will go dead at least four times for brief moment. I live in a suburb with no tall buildings to block signal. Do have trees. Just bought the FX4 fully loaded new last week. Hate to take it back for service already. Love the way it handles and 5.0 power.

Cool

I'm always having some type of reception problem. Even just pulling in my driveway I'll momentarily loose satilitte reception just from a few tall trees that cover the driveway. Alot of times I'll check the weather satilitte and the info isn't there. Sometimes I'll leave on the screen and it never comes up. Or it will come in stages. Says something like "aquiring", or "loading", not sure. Or I'll want to check wind direction and it doesn't come up. I usually have to play with it for a while. It's wierd, It can be after I've been driving for some time. OR, I'll be on the road for just a few minutes and all works fine, go figure. And, alot of times it won't sync with my phone. I usually have to shut the phone off, turn it back on and then do it manually. And even then sometimes it still doesn'take. The dealer said it was a problem with the phone, and the phone people said it was a problem with the truck . But it seems to be doing better here lately. My main gripes are, the nav usually doesn't take the same route twice, or it will take me on some wierd routes. And it doesn't have a Previous "Route" memory. Just previous destinations that you have to use to lay out a course manually. And sometimes it still takes a wierd side street or two? It would be nice, if say for instance, you want to lay a previous "route" destination for your son or daughter so you no exactly the route they "should" take? It scares me be because now I'm just playing with it. But when it comes time to take my travel trailer on it's first excursion, I'm not sure I can trust my nav to get me there.

Wow, you're having the exact opposite experience that I am with Sync w/Nav!

Other than it freezing up once in first few weeks I had the truck, it's been downright flawless. Yes, it loses reception here and there (bridges and trees), but by-and-large, it's been a very positive experience.

I have noticed that it sometimes takes a few minutes of driving around before the weather and other info. shows up, but the GPS works right out of my driveway.

I had Sync w/Nav in my 2009 Lincoln MKS, so when it came time to get my truck, I was itching to have it back (I had a 2010 Maxima in between the MKS and F-150 - blech!)

FWIW, I have an iPhone 4 (not 4S), and it syncs perfectly. Sometimes it'll drop and reconnect, but most of the time it works fine, and hasn't screwed up since the last couple of iOS updates.

What kind of phone do you have, and does it have the latest upgrades on it?

I have the 2012 Screw F150 EB w/ Sony NAV. No problems with NAV reception, but Sirius, as I've always experienced, loses radio under moderate tree cover, cloud cover, or any overpass bridge. Why anyone would pay for satellite radio is beyond me. I've had that same problem with every vehicle that has come w/ 6mos of Sirius satellite.
