reduced gas milage
My 2010 F150 V8 has dropped in gas mileage since Ford did a computer program upgrade last April to stop occasional hard shifts. Ford has no answer for this but the mileage is about 2 mpg less than before (both towing and non-towing). Mileage is both manual calculation and computer. Any suggestions?
From what I understand, at the end of this month, there will be no more ethanol free gas. You can / could buy pure gas in my part of the world. North Alabama. The place I have been buying pure gas from is now E10. I asked the station owner and that is where I got my information. The gas suppliers are offering a 6 cents discount per gallon now in this area to "force" a swap. Even Conoco / Phillips has made the swap. We are all fixing to take a hit on MPG's I am afraid. Ethanol is the biggest scam since they tried to sell the Brooklyn Bridge IMHO.

It is changing daily from what am understanding. The puregas.org is changing it as well. 2 months ago we had about a dozen gas stations around here that sold pure gas. Now we are down to 4 as of this morning. Me and another guy here at work just pulled it up.
my 2010 dose / did the same thing but they did the last update and some one told me to try to recalibrate my throttle and that would fix it, and has helped! i went from 12.5 to about 14.7 and thats hand calculated!

Thanks to all for your input. The Ford dealer did check for ethenol and found it to be 5% in my tank. Not sure how they tested for it. I thought it was odd that it changed immediately after the program update. They even said that the computer would have to relearn my driving habits so give it 750 -1000 miles. I'll ask them about the throttle calibration. Thanks again.
dude you do it not the dealer!
put your key in turn it to the run Poisson but don't start it. then roll slowly on the throttle peddle. then let off of it fast, turn key off and do it a total of three times. IT WILL HELP WITH THE RESPONSE AS WELL!
