Left Foot Rest?

Has ford made available a factory footrest for the left foot on the new F150's yet? It kinda bothered me before, but with a recent ankle injury, it has be emphasized how much I would really like to have one. Searches on here have shown me that it has been a semi-desired thing for years, and something that I would think Ford should have made available years ago. Do the 2012's come equipped with a left foot rest? Or do I need to put my fabrication thinking cap on?

Search for dead pedal, that's normally what they're called.

No, there hasn't been one in years. Maybe search the 04-08 forum to see if anyone there ever came up with a solution.

Off to the boneyard I go. I'm tired of searching for a comfortable place to settle my aching foot. And to do it before the rain comes, and the place turns into a mosh pit....

Let us know how it goes, in my old '00 I used to rest my foot on the side pocket and it would really help with my lower back and its awkward in my '11. This dead pedal thing sounds pretty cool and it would be nice instead of scuffing up my kick panel

I use dead pedals in cars but in trucks I just don't ever put my foot on it if there is one. I'm not really sure why either.

I used Advanced Search and found where I had previously used advanced search to help some one.

The ultimate pedals solution looks interesting. Are they selling a complete kit (with mounting bracket that attaches to the side, floor, or firewall), or just a replacement "pad" for (older?) F150's that already had foot rests?

I don't guess I've ever thought about this issue, except for my right foot on extended stretches where my cruise is on....left foot has never caused an issue.

Me neither. I take my shoes off and with cruise on, put my right foot on the floor hump. I do sometimes move my left foot as far up under the dash as it will go. The seat is pretty far back, so lots of room.

Keep in mind that if your in the 5'9" height range or less (like I am) then you'll most likely not reach the dead pedal without really stretching out your left leg and pointing your toes forward and that is really uncomfortable.

I installed a typical mid 80's Mustang dead pedal (modified it to bring the resting pad closer toward the driver seat) as close to the dirver seat as possible and my left foot is still 1"-2" shy of the pad.

Gonna remodify it by welding on an extention to the bracket that supports the pad.

I have that same dead pedal for my truck (i think it's out of a Fox Body Mustang). I haven't installed yet, but when I do I'll try to make a write up on it. I've been meaning to get that done, so this might be a little motivation!
